Metal Shop Overview

The Metal Shop is for welding, grinding and plasma cutting: fabrication, repairs and anything else that involves cutting, shaping or joining metal.

Before you work here

• PPE is required in the Metal Shop. See Shop Safety: Personal Protective Equipment.
• Every corded tool requires training before you use it, welders and plasma cutters included. See Training and Certification: How Certification Works, and check your certifications in Journeyman at https://journeyman.waukeshamakers.com.
• This is hot work. Clear combustibles before you start and watch for smoldering after you finish. See Shop Safety: Fire Safety and Hot Work.
• Fumes. See Shop Safety: Air Quality.
• Inspect each tool before use. See Training and Certification: Pre-Use Inspection.
• Protect the people around you from sparks and welding flash.
